April 24, 2013: 12:00 AM EST
Target is ranked 20th on DiversityInc's Top 50 list of companies with the best diversity-management programs in the United States. Also, the retailer is DiversityInc's Top Company for Mentoring, in recognition of its mentoring program. Described by DiversityInc as a model program for other companies, Target's mentoring program includes group, virtual, and peer mentoring. It also includes skip mentoring, which means a senior executive mentors a team member who is two or more pay grades below the mentor. Target's training efforts include an annual Asian Leadership Day and related training for corporate headquarters provided by the LGBTA Business Council.
